I'm sorry, could you be a little more specific? What about Bit Stream
Indexing and PDF conversion would you like to know?

I am trying to put some structure (XML and/orSGML) into data
distributed as PDF.
The requirements for "structuring" should be configurable - hence the
use of indexing as a configuration mechanism.
Bit Stream Indexing gives the maximum flexibility - Adobe used to talk
about Indexed PDF - i assume such a technique was needed.
Thanks for looking into my question

Are you looking for ways to convert pdf to xml? I know of software to
do this if that's what you want.

Sorry it's rather difficult to understand what exactly are you looking
for from you postings. My guess is that you are looking for
documentation on PDF. If it's so 978 page PDF reference from adobe is
available from http://partners.adobe.com/asn/developer/acrosdk/docs/filefmtspecs/PDFReference.zip

have a close look at hint streams, if I understood you it's the
streams you are looking for.

Btw search the whole
http://partners.adobe.com/asn/developer/acrosdk/docs.html
page, possible you'll find something useful where.
