How do I lock my dog in my new Renault Scenic without the alarm going off? The alarm is factory fitted on a brand new scenic. |

Disable the internal movement detector usually there is an option for that in the manual that came with the car or with the alarm system , look under programming features |

I have this problem too. The manual doesn't really make much sense (all one page of it). Any help on this would really be appreciated. |

Got this from Renault customer support - its an omission from the manual - Switch off the car and then without pressing any pedals press the start button 5 times in quick sucsession (less than 10 seconds). Exit the car and lock as usuall - car indicators should flash 5 times - this should deactivate the internal sensors. |

Thanks John. I had already tried this but it seems I also had a fault with the bonnet sensor and this was stopping it from working properly. First chance I get I will try it out but I don't want to keep annoying the neighbours with the alarm going off! |

You could try locking without the alarm at all. Open the drivers door, press the lock button on the console for more than 5 seconds, it should click and then shut the doors and check they are locked, unlock in the usual way. I had a problem with the bonnet alarm sensor and added some padding to depress the switch further. |

We picked up a new Scenic last week and had this problem too. We contacted the sales dept at our dealers. They didn't really understand the problem or know the correct way of actually disabling the alarm any way. We went back today to the service dept and the problem was fixed in five minutes by a very helpful technician. He fitted an extra part to the bonnet sensor and that was that. It is an approved Renault solution to the problem - just a shame the sales dept don't know about it !! |
