I'm looking for a specific book about the diamond industry, but I gave away my only copy and I can't remeber the author, exact title, or publisher. Here's what I do know: - I bought this book new in either 2002 or 2003 from a bookstore in an airport (possibly Indianapolis). - The title was very simple - either "Diamond" or "Diamonds" and possibly some descriptive secondary title line. - The cover was black, with a picture of a diamond on it. - It was a trade paperback, not particularly thick. - I believe that the publisher's logo was red. - The book had chapters (or at least sections) on diamonds in India, industrial diamonds, diamond cutting and polishing, De Beers, etc. It provided a popular survey of the diamond industry, rather than a technical, geological, or jewelery-oriented text. - I have tried to find this book on Amazon but have had no luck. I would like to know the name, author, and ISBN number of this book. |

Hello. Based on your description, I'd say that your book is: Diamond: The History of a Cold-Blooded Love Affair by Matthew Hart http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0452283701/ The cover is black, with a picture of a diamond on it. It came out in paperback in 2002. The book covers diamonds in India, diamond cutting and polishing, De Beers, etc. It's a popular survey of the diamond industry. ------ search strategy: amazon.com / title: diamond publication date after: 2001 format paperback I hope this is the book that you had in mind. If not, please request clarification, and I will resume my search. Thanks. |
