I need to be able to record Video Conferences, preferably using a DVD,
and then post the DVD's to people. The products I'm seeing have hard
disks built in in order to record - they merely play DVD's. What I
need I beleive is a DVDR. In an ideal world it will also be a
mainstream brand, and have something called RS232 control.

I don't know how to say "okay - i'm happy with that" on this system;
but I am happy with that answer. Indeed, I spent hours trying to find
a Philips DVDR615, then I clicked your URL and Richard was my mother's
brother. A UK version is the DVDR70. Thanks.

Do you want something like this?
DVD HandycamŽ Camcorder
DCR-DVD101

Then get a DVD duplicator (PC or standalone) to make copies...

While my suggestion might have helped, as I re-read the question,
you'll need to record your video conference to MPEG on a hard drive
anyway, if your VC software supports it, or pass the video/audio
source through a DVD Recorder before it reaches the monitor/speakers.
