From my initial search on Google, I can already tell that there's a
lot of information about Willi Bauer (note the spelling of his first
name, which is the German way of saying "Willie").  So anything you
can do to indicate the particular information you need would be
helpful.

my clarification before assuming that I wasn't going to answer the

The question simply states: "German artist named Willie Bauer - German
artist".  How would you, I, or any other researcher know what alice-ga
wanted until she clarified what she wanted?

If alice12-ga had responded that she wanted general information, or
that she was happy with your answer, then I would have suggested that
your comment should become the answer.  However, if alice-ga had
responded that she wanted something specific, then I would have
proceeded to research an answer.

Well, I suppose that alice12-ga still always has the option of
accepting or rejecting your answer now.  In the end, she will decide
whether you answered too quickly or right on time.
