I recently heard the astonishing statistic that since the beginning of the 20th century more Americans have died in automobile accidents than in ALL wars fought in US history put together. It got me wondering what other activities in daily life (excluding high risk taking activities like sky-diving) are considered to be the most risky? One always hears that it's more dangerous to drive to the airport than to get on an airplane, but has anyone documented a list of risk factors in normal activities? (let's assume that safe sex is a given, okay?) |

Is this the same as a "what's the deadliest snake?" question? :) Which criteria do you want? What kills the most people, or what activities are you most likely to die from trying?
