I have a compaq armada 7400 series.  At start up I have a blank screen
which makes it impossible to try to correct any problem.  Need your
help or suggestion.

Hi tino2003,

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? If that works, it will give you
a chance to  run SFC (Start => Run => type "SFC") and check your
display properties. However, you have to think that it's probably your
video card. If you recently updated the driver, go back to the old
version; or, try updating your driver.

In Windows, what is 'Safe Mode' used for and why?

what happens after the blank screen it restart itself u have

Thaks everyone that answered to my question.  I did a defragmentation
and the screen is back.
