In the late 50's at lake wawasee in Syracuse In. there was a small
eating place called bushy's snackaree. The owner killed his mother.
I was at the lake then but no one now seems to know anything about it.
MY spelling of his restaurant may not be correct. Can you give me all
and any information you have.

I searched old archives of Indiana newspapers, which include lots of
material on Lake Wawasee (including a much-printed story of a pig who
well into a well), but nothing along the lines of your story. This is
odd, as I imagine it would have been pretty big news at the time.

Are you sure of the location? The timing?

Are there any other details you can tell us.

The better we can pin down the specifics, the more likely one of the
researchers here can find something for you.

I mean..."fell into a well"!

I am very sure of this as I had a house in that area of the Lake at
that time. I am sure this happened in the mid to late 50's. I don't
know his last name and the whole thing was rather quiet. The
restaurant was only there for two or three years before this happened.
The restaurant was located in Johnsons bay next to the fish hatchery
and accross from Galloways grocery, both of which are no longer there.
The location of the restaurant became Plaza Marine then the sailing
club which is presently is. Bushy lived in a house just North of
there on top of a large hill. That area is not condos. Buchy lived
with his mom and spent the winters in Fl. If you have any other
questions, please email me. Thanks

Have you tried the Wawasee Mail Journal. That was the paper at the
time and it only came out once a week. Cromwell, the town, is
probably closer to his restaurant than Syracuse. Maybe they have
something. Thanks again.
Tom
