I have the Quicktime Pro installation. At some point, I lost the
ablility to save video clips as Quicktime movies from websites. I
have triple checked the Quicktime installation and the website insists
that the fault is not theirs. I have updated ActiveX from the
Microsoft site. I have run the scandisk program and the stand alone
Quicktime installer in safe mode. So far, no change. How can I fix
this?

Which version number of Quicktime Pro is it (maybe 4 or 5)?

Let's test something. Go to the following web page, and see if you can
download any of these QuickTime movies.

Let me know if it works or not.

I am not familiar with your particular problem with Quicktime, but if
you simply right-click the links to video clips and click "save target
as" in Internet Explorer then it will save the file. I hope this was
of help to you, even if it was very brief.....

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it and got the message that
internet explorer was not able to open or find the website even though
it was open in internet explorer.

Maybe, you could try un-installing and then re-installing Quicktime.
There is a slim chance that it might work.

Thanks, I tried the uninstall/reinstall- no good. Sometimes I get
the message that some of the applications associated with Quicktime
are now associated with other (something- I forgot) do you want to
(brng them back or something). Sorry about the indefinite quote. Do
you think this is relavant?
