I will be travelling to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario in late July 2004
and need to find a free, publicly accessible Internet wireless
connection.  Ideally this would be in a coffee shop or library
environment -- telling me about stray residential signals from
war-driving won't suffice, as I need a reliable signal in a location
where I can sit and work.  (I will only need this connection for a
week or two and
so I do NOT want to sign up for a paid service.)  A genuine answer to
this question will actually identify a location, not just give me
links to so-called WiFi Hotspot directories online that I've already
checked.  Thanks.

The Hidden Bay Café 

?A small Internet café in downtown Sault Ste. Marie has installed a
new form of Internet access for their patrons.  Recently the Hidden
Bay Café has installed a Wireless Access Point (WAP) for use by
customers.  Otherwise known as WiFi, these access points are used to
allow Internet connectivity without having to connect using a
conventional wire. ?

The owner states this it?s free.

?Mr. Stephenson further commented, "Some of these access points are
?pay for use? but in our case we provide this service at no cost to
our customers.  The hope is that it will bring more people into our
little café.?
