I am looking for photographs of bridges around the world for use in materials for an educational institution. They must be copyright free public domain images. I will need high resolution images for printing. |

According to the 'fair use' section of copyright law (title 17, chapter 1, section 107 of the USC), "the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies ... for purposes such as ... teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use) ... is not an infringement of copyright." So, copyrighted bridge pictures might be okay for you to use in the classroom. http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/17/107.html |

Just wanted to mention that many of the links given do NOT point to public domain images. For example, the photos at: Pittsburgh - A City of Bridges (Many photos - some of the photos you can click to enlarge. Click on forward arrow to go to next page.) http://pittsburgh.about.com/cs/pictures/l/bl_bridge_1.htm specifically say they are protected by copyright. |
