Question ID: 37317
Who are at least two manufacturers of disposable sox, similar to those
on british airways, that are black, brown, grey or white and would
sell them in small lots. I am thinking a year supply(365) of sox for
$20.

I need contact numbers and web pages if available.

Hi Will-
I've been having lots of fun finding out about airline sox or socks.

It seems they are made mostly in Hong Kong - One source is HK Epoch of
Hong Kong. (www.hkepock.bizland.com/travel_care.htm) The company is
reachable at Room 303, Fu Fai Commercial Center, 27 Hillier St.
Sheung Wan, H.K.
email: hkepoch@hongkong.com
I could not get their catalog to download completely but it was
mentioned on the site that the minimum order is 30,000 pieces. I
thought that was overkill.

You can trade airline souvenirs at www.worldroom.com. Go to
TravelTalk. Maybe you can collect enough other stuff collectors want
(sleeping masks, tableware minus the knife, etc.) and trade for the
socks you like.

Finally, try the eBay auction site. (www.ebay.com). I did see half a
dozen being auctioned for $5.50. Maybe the next lot will be less
pricey.

There is a new product - special socks that prevent blood clots on
long haul flights. I presumed you meant the more ordinary types
designed for getting to the restroom in the middle of the airline
night.

I could not find a reseller that makes them available in reasonable
lots -- maybe it's a business idea for someone out there. Even though
I haven't located a source for exactly what you want, I hope this
helps. (Maybe even Google will give me a shot at being an authorized
researcher.)

Happy flying. Libby
