We are going to Green Mountains either Oct. 9 or Oct. 12. We need to
be in Lincoln, NH on Oct. 16.
We like:
Cabins that are secluded and have wood burning fireplaces, king bed,
dvd or vcr, cd player and small kitchen area. Hot tub is nice but not
totally necessary. New and modern is not what we like. Log cabin,
uniques type place
We don't want to drive more than 60 to 100 miles a day
We would like not to change cabins every day but if that is necessary we will
My husband does not like to shop, but if there are any specialty shops
you suggest that would be good. We live in a highrise condo and
something for our home is good place to look. Art, sculpture, etc.
We don't hike a lot, but easy hiking is good.
We love the mountains, lakes and waterfalls.
If Green Mountains would not be your choice, what do you suggest in that area.
We like to sightsee things off the beaten path and things that are not
the "usual". Old homes are good but just one or two.
We like musuems, but not everyday.
We can canoe or water kayak or very easy rapids with a guide. (guide
for rapids only). No horseback riding.
We once took a tour in a hummer with a guide and loved it.
Please suggest restaurants.
Any different types of entertainment we love.

I'd recommend doing a search for accomodations in the Stowe region of
the Green Mountains. That time of year is just fantastic for anything
outdoor related. There are also many outdoor outfitters in the area
that can easily help you select a great kayak or canoe trip. The Green
Mountain Club is also headquartered there and will be able to offer
many suggestions for great routes. I'd suggest bringing bicycles as
well. The area offers a recreational bike path that travels through
beautiful scenery and also right through the village, where you can
visit museums, art galleries and boutiques. A good car bike rack (
http://www.orsracksdirect.com/bike-racks.html ) or roof kayak rack (
http://www.orsracksdirect.com/kayak-canoe-racks.html ) will allow you
to set out and explore several other bike routes that offer superb
leaf peeping.
