Name: Haegus or Heagus (not sure on the spelling), pronounced
(hey-gus). I do not believe the name to be of Greek Mythology but
possibly of the Greek language or some derivative of the Greek
language. I would like to know the meaning, if any; the person, if it
is one; and the origin, even if it is not of Greek origin. |

Dear majorpain21,
While searching for "Heagus" proved to be a dead end, I found
"Haegus". But this a word spelled like that seems to exist in only one
language: Estonian. In Estonian, "hägus" (the ä-umlaut almost
inescapably becomes "ae" in an English-speaking environment) means
blurry, blurred, fuzzy. "Hägus loogika", for example, is fuzzy logic.
But I have not found any evidence that "hägus" has ever seen use as a
surname in Estonia. Is there anything more you can tell us about the
background in this particular case? Anything might prove helpful.
Regards,
Scriptor

No there is really no more that I can tell you about it. I just
remember hearing it before but never knew the actual spelling of it.
But thanks for the answer and the prompt response.

Hegyes is a last name in Hungarian and sounds something like your
phonetic pronunciation. Could this be the name you're looking for?

Could the name be Aegus? The Greek rough breathing mark is often
written as an H. Let me know and I'll follow through.
