The school superintendent is calling himself a doctor, and I am not
sure he completed his degree. He attended Fayetteville State
University in North Carolina, and his name is Timothy Markley. This
seems to me like information that ought to be somewhere in the public
domain, but I can't find it.

Clarification of Question by benjy75-ga on 14 Jul 2004 17:00 PDT
I now know that he attended a doctoral program in education at Nova
Southeastern University and had not yet finished his degree as of
April 2003. I am interested in learning whether or not they have ever
conferred a doctoral degree. I realize he got a masters degree in
1998 from Fayetteville State University.

A Tim Markley is listed as the principal at Douglas Byrd High School
in Fayetteville, http://www.fortbraggmwr.com/child_family/CYS/YESS/schoolliaison/highschools.htm

And spoke at a meeting in 2002 of graduates of Fayetteville State
University, though they have him listed as Mr. as opposed to Dr.

The New Hampshire Board of Education lists him as Dr. Timothy S. Markley.

That should have read the New Hampshire Department of Education lists
him as Dr. Timothy S. Markley.
