I'm looking for a website I saw about a year ago. It displays a
graphical view of many top US companies, their CEO's, and board of
directors. The purpose was to show how most of the top US companies
are run by the same people. It would let you click on a company
"bubble" and get the directors for that company, then click on the
people to see the other companies who's boards they sit on. It was a
graphical "flash" type layout. Where's this site?

I believe the website that you have in mind is the Corporate Library.
This website provides a director interlock tool that reveals
relationships between companies and between directors. There is a
flash tour of this product.

Web of board members ties together Corporate America
By Matt Krantz, USA TODAY

?The Corporate Library reveals the boards of the nation's leading
companies have a startling amount of overlap.?

Examples of the tight ties that bind together America's boards:

?Eleven of the 15 largest companies, including Pfizer and Citigroup,
have at least two board members who sit together on another board.
Of those 15 companies, four have at least two board members in common
with another of the top-tier firms.?

Corporate Library, a corporate governance tracker launched a database
that examines companies' and shows how nearly 2,000 corporate boards
and more than 22,000 board members are linked.

Thanks for all the information. This looks like what I what I need.
Do you know if this tool, or something like it, was ever offered as a
free service. The site that I reviewed came as a link in an email
newsletter. I can't remember which newsletter now. But the content
was free rather than subscription based. And it probably wasn't as
thorough as this Director Interlock Tool. Thanks.

I am not aware of a free tool like the one I located for you; however
I will do additional research and hopefully I will locate a similar
website.
