Dear lesliexyz,
It would be helpful to know your definition of "German-Jewish". Do you mean:
- Jewish US residents of German nationality?
- German-born Jewish US citizens?
- US residents or citizens of German-Jewish ancestry?
- Or anything else?

Hello,
Thank you for the questions.
We are looking for numbers of people living in the United States today
who
are from Germany or of German ancestry who are Jewish. These could include
residents and citizens.
Does this clarify the question enough? Please let me know if not.
Thanks so much, Scriptor.
Best,
Leslie

Hi Leslie,
I noticed several sites that referenced a population in the US of 6
million Ashkenazi Jews.
Given the history of the modern diaspora, it may be very difficult to
discern how many of the current population of Ashkenazi Jews have
family origins that -- at one point or another -- led through Germany.
Would information on the Ashkenazi population meet your needs?

Hmmm, so it doesn't look like there are numbers out there that
estimate German-Jewish descent? If you think the ashkenazi connection
is the closest we can get, then I suppose those number will have to
do.
Thanks,
Leslie

Thanks for getting back to me.
I have an inquiry out regarding the availability of the type of
national-origin data you're seeking. Once I have a response on this,
I'll see if I can provide you an answer based on the best info I can
find.
Stay tuned...
