Dear heinrichso-ga; Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting question. What you are asking about is actually a ?dysembryoplastischer neuroepithelialer tumor? A dysembryoplastischer neuroepithelialer tumor, or ?DNET? (sometimes referred to as an ?astrocytoma? or a ?glioma?), is a clinocopathologically unique tumor of the temporal lobe of the brain. These tumors arise from glial brain cells called ?astrocytes?, are slowing growing, benign growths (usually in children) and are often associated with seizures.
