Question ID: 37544
Is there a program out there for windows that sorts out the URLs in
the favorites directory into subdirectories of that URL's category?

I have about 1000 favorites and I'd like a program that will organize
the favorites into subdirectories (the category for that URL is the
Subdirectory).

I.E. www.google.com is in my favorites...this program will create a
subdirectory called "search engines" (something like that) and will
place "Google" into that new subdirectory...

Hello,

So you would need a program that recognizes, without any input from
you, that www.google.com is a "search engine", or that www.amazon.com
is an "online book store", etc? Is this correct? If this is what
you're looking for I really doubt that you'll be able to find such a
program. Nevertheless, I'll keep searching and tell you if I find
anything.

Hello!

I´m posting this as a comment because I´m not absolutely sure that
this is what you´re looking for...

I think you don´t need a program in order to do what you´re saying. In
Explorer, if you go to the Favorites menu and then click "Organiza
Favorites", you´ll get a window that allows you to do what you need.
That is, you can create sub-folder in the Favorites folder and then
move the bookmarks you already have into any sub-folder. For example,
you can click on "Create folder" in this windows and call the new
folder "Online games", then select the online games URLs, click "Move
to folder" and then select the newly created "Online games" folder.

If you are definitely looking for a program that organizes your
favorites, you might want to try Bookmar Manager Pro. You can download
the trial version from

http://www.wakproductions.com/bmp/index.htm

As I said before, I´m not sure that this is the answer you were
looking for. If it is, please let me know so I post it as an answer
and collect the $4.50 :)

Best wishes,
elmarto-ga
