I want to buy 2 Hearts, a woodcut by the artist Jim Dine. Must be in
excellent condition.

Please find me someone who is selling now in the US.

Again, the print must:

1) Be 2 hearts by Jim Dine
2) Be in excellent condition
3) Be CONFIRMED as available for immediate purchase somewhere in the US.

r2-ga,
I have talked to several dealers of Jim Dine's work and have
discovered a similar painting, Lemon Moon, which may be of interest. I
realize this has been offerred to you before, but before you make your
decision, you might want to consider the following information that I
have dug up for you.

Two Hearts, created in 1995 as a special project for Best
Buddies, an organization that is dedicated to lasting friendships and job
training opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. It was an
edition of 60. It was used as a fund raiser and special pieces like this
rarely come up to auction.

Of the 15 artist proofs out of this edition, these pieces were reworked and
made into a print titled "Lemon & Moon". It is the same print, the same
colors, but with a few more flourishes and finishes. The great thing about
this print is that there are only 15 of them!

One of my contacts who is also a Jim Dine collector has commented the
two being practically indestinguishable from each other.

I have the contact information of the dealer who is offering the print
if you wish to purchase it. I have already informed the dealer of your
intentions and he is waiting on your reply. Let me know what you
think.

Cheers,
Tox-ga

r2-ga,
The dealer has been kind enough to put the piece on hold for you.
Please respond whether Lemon Moon is acceptable or not so the piece
can be released from hold. Thank you.

Cheers,
Tox-ga

Hello r2,

I've been looking into your question along with several other researchers.

I can basically confirm what they've found thus far -- the Two Hearts
piece is not available for sale anywhere.

However, the very similar piece, Lemon and Moon, is available in very
limited numbers. I've identified one gallery that has it immediately
available for $14,000.

Please let the researchers here know if this option is of interest to you.

Thanks,

pafalafa-ga
