I was wondering if there was any software or service available on the
internet that I could use to see if some photos I have posted on a
site were being used on another site without my knowledge.

Have you tried using Google Images to search for the filename
of your photos? If the people who posted them neglected to
change the filenames, Google Images may locate them for you
by searching for picturename.jpg or imagename.gif.

If the filenames were changed, you may still have success by
searching for the word(s) which best describe(s) the images.
Google Images also catalogs words on the webpage used to
describe the images thereupon. So you can search for words
which might be used in a phrase describing your photos on
someone else's webpage, and see if your photos show up in
the images returned by the search.

If its your site, you could always try something like this:
http://www.alistapart.com/articles/hotlinking/

You would need to be working with php and apache, but could easily set
up something where you logged the referrer.
