Hi Mikemd:
I believe the castle you are looking for is "Gernon" Castle. It was
located in Normandy, more precisely Montfiquet, Calvados, Normandy.
The castle was built by the local Gernon family, and if you use Google
search terms:
normandy france gernon
You will find a lot of genealogical data relating to the family name
Gernon.
At this site I found the most information on the castle:
http://utenti.lycos.it/mary1943/second_part.htm
"...the Gernon's castle had had a fame of being an impenetrable
fortress, in fact it held for at least three hundred fifty years,
until the civil war in the mid 1300s, when enemies sieged the castle
for months, before finally having to resort to burning out the castle
& its village. "
As of two years ago the perimeter of the castle could still be seen,
and was for sale.
I hope this helps,

Mike:
Sorry I din't give you the answer that you wanted. My answer was
supported by Google results.
Given the search query "geron castle", Google returned zero results.
Given the search query "gernon castle", Google returned 299 results.
Alternatively,
Given the search query "geron france normandy", Google returned 20
results.
Given the search query "gernon france normandy", Google returned 1240
results.
There is no question that both surnames exist in Normandy, I could not
find any geron castle.
The references to Gernon castle mentioned it being built in the time
period you mentioned.
Since their were so many references to people being born at "Gernon
Castle" and zero references to "Geron Castle", I felt it safe to
assume that a typographical error might have occured in the one
document that you have found.
