This is a "two part" question for Pinkfreud-ga !! Hello again! I am
trying to locate these two video tapes. I've already tried to contact
JazzyBill with no response ? The Judy Garland tape was on public
television earlier this year as was Inside the actor's studio with
Barbara. Would you see what you can come up with - please. Thank's

I have not been able to find any references to a Judy Garland special
called "In My Own Words." However, there was a wonderful progam, "Judy
Garland: By Myself," which used Judy's memoirs to tell her story. This
has been shown on PBS as part of the "American Masters" series. Could
this be the show you're looking for? Here is a description:

Unfortunately, this program has not been released commercially, and I
have not been able to find a privately recorded copy of it.

I also struck out on finding a tape of Barbra Streisand's "Inside the
Actors Studio" program. I have learned that this show will be aired
again on Bravo TV on Sunday, August 22, a 11:00 AM (Eastern &
Pacific).

Both these programs are rather recent, and it's certainly possible
that tapes and/or DVDs will become available in the future, but at the
moment, they are as scarce as hens' teeth, and we all know how scarce
hens' teeth are.

Hi Pink. Yes, it is the American Master's series "By Myself". How do
we get hold of the good people who produced this thing? As for Bab's,
should I contact Bravo directly ? Give me a shout. Mike

I doubt that contacting the producers of the "American Masters" series
or Bravo would help. Since the Steisand program will be airing again
in August, your best bet is to ask a friend who has Bravo in their
cable lineup to tape it for you (if you do this, please note that it's
a two-hour show, longer than some "Inside the Actors Studio"
programs). The Garland program has been aired several times on PBS,
and it is entirely likely that it will be rerun again, so the "ask a
friend" technique may work there, also.

I did some asking around by emailing a few people I know who collect
videotapes of television programs. So far I have not found anything
for you, but I'll let you know if anything turns up. Please don't
cancel this question, since that would prevent any further comments
from being posted in the future.

You don't owe anything (other than the mandatory fifty-cent listing
fee). I would have been glad to be able to post an answer and collect
a fee, but I wasn't able to find what you need. Maybe next time!

Okay. Keep looking! Many thanks for the "help" so far!! I will have a
friend tape Babs' on Sunday August 22nd, then & we'll keep looking for
Judy ~ Deal? If my tape deck was not so "new" I'd throw it out!!!!
It's "supposed" to have auto tracking, "there's a suprise"!!! I
suppose I'll have to take it back in to see why it's tracking is
messed up. By the by, I loved Annie, Sting,I did not stay for. It was
a "school night" & I had already been up[ since 4:30, so I was tired &
headed for home during the intermission..I didn't miss much from the
"reviews" : Annie stole the show!!  Good for her!!!! Elton John did a
"hush hush" benifit contert at our Excel Center, one of the people I
went with happened to run into him in the Mpls. skyway & followed him
into Daytons mens dept; where he turned around & asked "may I help
you"!!!! She never thought to get an autograph!! I could have "killed
her"!!! Oh well. Take care, M.
