Apparently somewhere there is a web page into which you enter your
name (or nickname) and it returns what your occupation is likely to
be. For example, I enter "Jill Fisher" and it tells me with that
name, I am likely to be a marine biologist. (Or whatever.)

I would like Google Answers to find this website, if possible. That
was the point of my question.

if you have the website i can try to see the source code to see what
they are doing. I suspect "fisher" correlates with marine.

That's what I'm saying - I don't have the website. I'd like to see it.

Hi memelicious42,

Perhaps the website I was remembering is not what you are describing.
The one I am remembering is much more light-hearted in nature than the
relationship you described between Fisher and "marine biologist".
Unfortunately I don't know of a website like you suggested.

Since you seem interested in memes in general, here's a link which may
interest you. [http://memegen.deskslave.org/searchmeme.pl?string=occupation]
The website lists many different memes going around on the popular
weblog site www.livejournal.com, as well as showing the most popular
memes [http://memegen.deskslave.org/popularmeme.pl], with the most
popular registering 1.7 million hits. Conveniently, the website also
provides an interface for creating your own meme!

Hope you get a proper answer soon!
