Is there a formula for determining the cross street in a New York City address?
i.e. If the address is 1249 6th Avenue, what is the cross street?

Here's how you can figure out the cross streets given the building
address and street or avenue.

Finding the street from a number and avenue:

?To find the approximate cross street, take the building number and
divide by 20; then add (or subtract) the number from the following
table."

Examples:


660 Madison Avenue
660 Madison Avenue would be 660/20=33 plus the Madison Avenue index
from the table below (+27), 33+27=60th Street)


1249 Sixth Avenue
1249 Sixth Avenue would be 1249/20 = 62.5 minus the Sixth Avenue index
from the above table (-12), 62.5-12=50.5

The cross street would be 50 Street.
