Looking for how much the US government spends on Advertising. This
would include, but not be limited to, the Dept. of Defense, Dept. of
Interior, Dept. of Education, etc.

btalbert --

A major publication provides the annual total expenditures for a list
of the largest national advertisers. The most current information
(for 2003) is available online for approximately $10. This list of
largest advertisers certainly includes the U.S. Government. In fact,
I have found a reliable online source that give the total U.S.
Government national advertising expenditures for 2001, citing the
publication's data for that year.

Would this 2001 total, plus the ordering page for the 2003 information
be a satisfactory answer to your question?

Does the online publication break down the total U.S. Government
national advertising expenditures for 2001 by any catagories ( IRS,
USPS, Dept. of Defense, Dept of Education, ect.)? If so I'll take it,
if not I need more info. I need the info by Wen night, would that be
to soon?

Thanks,

Bryan Talbert

Bryan --

Unfortunately, my information is not broken down by agency, and I
invite other researchers to have a crack at this. The site that
offers the gross number for each of the top 100 national advertisers
is this one:
Advertising Age; Data Center
