I can provide you with the number of motor vehicle crashes for the
years 2002 and 2001. The source of this information is a report by the
U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration. This appears to be the most up-to-date data available
as this report updates the estimates that were released in April 2003.

Would this information meet your needs?

Thanks,
Bobbie7

I need more current data. Monthly or quarterly. It doesn't have to be
car accidents per se. I am trying to locate some (any) data that
might fortell the number of wrecked (totalled) cars, but more
importantly whether we are driving better or worsr and any supporting
documentation that would make the case best. I prefer not to deal
with anecdotal information unless it is convincing or
pseudo-scientific. It could be Dollar value of car accicents, value
of auto repair, highway deaths, moving violations, traffic fines,
license suspensions, etc.

I sent off an email to the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration and they repied that 2003 data is not yet available.

Best regards,
Bobbie7

I located a table with data regarding deaths in passenger vehicles for
each year from 1975 to 2002 in the following categories:

- Car drivers
- Pickup and SUV drivers
- Cargo and large passenger van drivers
- All drivers
- All passenger vehicle occupants

Would this information help?

I located North Dakota weekly traffic fatality statistics for 2003-2004.
The last entry is for June 23, 2004.

Is this of any help?

Hi infopros,

Have a look at the following report and let me know what you think -
there's alot of data there, comparing years 1988 through to 2003
including trends.

Sorry for such a late response. The NTSA report looks as up to date
as I was going to get--at least at that point in time. Thanks all. I
have wrapped up my interest in this subject for now.
