I just need to find phone numbers, sounds easy huh?  Well, im doing
research for school on some companies(corporations) in Florida.  All
of the companies are developers.  Most of these companies are not the
parent corporations but are smaller subsidiaries of a bigger
corporation.  They are mostly LLC's and LTD's.  I am finding it
incredibly hard, to just find there phone numbers.  All the companies
were verified as current and registered by checking them against the
Secretary of States Department of Corporations Database
(www.sunbiz.org).  Vie tried looking these corporations up on Google,
yahoo and other search engines.  I?ve tried calling directory
assistance. I?ve tried using reverse address phone directories. I?ve
tried using Reference USA with some luck, but not enough to justify
further use.  I?ve tried calling the cities.  I?ve called the IRS,
State Occupational Licensing Department, and the City and County
Permitting Departments.  I?ve also tried searches against Hoovers,
D&B, Lexis Nexus, Gales and other business databases.  At the very
least if I there was just a way to figure out who there parent company
is, im sure there phone numbers are allot easier to obtain.  So that
is my Question.  How can I find out who the parent companies are? 
Here are some example corporations. They are ones that I am currently
trying to contact. Please find there numbers, to show me that your
method works.  Also I have about two hundred others that im trying to
contact so please make sure that the method is not to time consuming
or costly.

Holy cow!

In a society as open and as electronically-sophisticated as ours, a
private company is still...awfully private!  I sort of, maybe, found
one phone number, but I sure as heck wouldn't want to have to find a
few hundred.

Anyway, I decided (totally arbitrarily) to search on:  GREC Conversions IX Ltd

and found an address:

8500 SW 8th Street
Suite 228
Miami FL 33144

thier legal agent:

Jose Luis Machado, Agent
same address


their partner (which I gather is their parent) company:

GREC Fontainebleau Management Inc (same address), 
General Partner
Augustin Herran, President

their date of filing with the state of Florida:

Date Filed
03/11/2004

and their raison d'etre, which is that they were formed solely to
operate the Fontainebleau Park Apartments at 9701 Fontainebleau Blvd,
Miami.


But no phone number!


Finally, in rooting around the GREC Fontainbleau records, I came
across the same agent:

Jose Luis Machado, Agent

and his phone number:

305-261-5355


which is as close as I can get you.  

By the way, I was searching the online document files of the Florida
Division of Corporations, which I gather you are familiar with
already.  The above information is all there, but it's not easily
extracted.


I'm not sure how to proceed forward at this point.  Perhaps after
reviewing this info, you can offer some suggestions.

Bottom line seems to be that Florida does not require a phone number
to be submitted with the records, and many businesses have nothing to
gain by having a listed number, so you may have quite a task on your
hands.

The question still remains the same.  Pafalafa looks like you and me
alike cannot anser it.  Please release the question so that some one
else may have the oppertunity to try to anser it (and earn the cash). 
Ula seemed to have much better luck, retreiving some company info.  Im
sure ula also found that it is pretty dificult and it would be alot
eiser and lot less time consuming if there was just one simple
approach.  Nelson gave a good suggestion, but unfortunatly "DNB"s
database does not usually contain the company name Im looking for, and
if it does it usually will not contain a phone number.  What I am
looking for is not for some one to go down the same road I did and
uncover the same stones but to provide me with a fresh simple,
accurate, efficient way to find these companies phone numbers.  Or
find me some one like ULA that I can hire to take care of this
research.  Because this is for school I could not afford any more than
$2 for every accurate phone number. Ula if you are intrested please
comment.  Thank you everybody for your support so far.

GREC stands for General Real Estate Corp.
It looks like they have done many condo conversions, this being their 9th.

Try http://www.dnb.com/us/ .  Address and phone is available free, it seems.

I am not a "Google Researcher", yet.  You can throw money my way but
it never gets here.

Finding each company took a slightly different approach from me. 
Also, I don't know if the numbers listed are the "parent companies". 
You might have to ask them.  Was the current list correct and what you
needed?

Here is a suggested method:

You can probably get 90% by searching the web for the address they do list.
The address as written will need to be tweaked/simplified/quoted to
get what you want.  It might take about 5 minutes or less per address
with this method.
Don't know if that is within your budget.  Suggest you time doing 10.

You might find more by looking for the people involved (via sunbiz or google).

Post the remaining items tough items for some researcher to track down.

There might be some general developer list out there with phone
numbers.  I did not look for that.  Maybe someone else can find that.

MrBlueGoat, I believe I have an aswer to your question that doesn't
involve the Secretary of State's website or additional google
searches. Its actually pretty simple.....but the answer date has
expired. Let me know if you wanna know. :)
