I work at a computer shop that sells quite a few machines, and all the
machines we service, we would like to brand with our personal logo
etc. Back in the days of 98 and ME, you saw "distributed by dell" all
over the boot logos and such, but since xp, I see none of that. I
don't even see screen savers, login menus, or anything. Legally, what
CAN and CANT'T we change? Can we install say ThemeXP with our a cutom
made package USING theme XP? I just want to know WHAT I can change,
I'll find ways as to how. (dollar value 5)

My second question is this. What would be a good way to back up and
restore thier information aside from using ghost and a multicast
server? Maybe something that partitions the drive, dumps the info to
that, and formats the old? I'd also want that information to be read
only so that they can't mess with it (just a suggestion). Also with a
boot disk, I'd like all that information dumped back ontop of the c
drive as if it left the shop that day. All and all, I need a clean
install of the operating system, and thier old information ACCESSIBLE
in a seperate part of the HD or on another partition. I also want a
solution to put the image on CD or DVD having them be bootable, as a
last resort if the HD dies, or thier partition gets corrupt. (dollar
value 20)

I'm also looking for a way to make myself a bootable NAV 2004 with the
updated definitions, using thier exsisting scanner, however, doesn't
it take a lot longer? If that doesn't work, I'll need some way to scan
with NAV 2004, without actually installing it or uninstalling it. Just
a stand alone way of doing it. Agian, I'll need a way to get current
definitions on there. (dollar value 10)

also, if you want to be nice, I need help with a command line dvd
burner software. Example, if I want to copy c:\123 to my burner and it
will copy it to the drive without me having to do another thing. IE
nero or something, and a link or two so I can play with it.

Legally, you can't change CRAP, except for the desktop...for example
changing the default hill to GRINCH'S COMPANY logo.

Can't help ya with question #2.

For #3, Ahead Nero can create bootable disks. Perhaps update your
NAV2004 and make a bootable disk? It has a DOS version included on the
disk, if you have the pro version.
In fact, I think it already IS bootable.

The trial version sucks, you don't get crap. Just buy it. It's really good.

you can however legally change the oemlogo.bmp and oeminfo.txt which
appears when you enter the control panel>system>general you can
manually change those files or let a nifty program like winxp manager
do it for you

by the way, try autopatcherXP it can do a bunch of great things for customizing xp
