Hello,

I work for a small firm with an accounting dept that is attempting to print some
of its invoices directly to pdf files (no scanning),
using acrobat distiller.

It is very easy to print the pdf's into blank sheets (i.e. the pdf
file has a blank background), but we'd like to print invoices to pdf's
with our Co. letterhead and graphics (our normal billing procedure)
already templated onto it.
Any clue if Adobe has this capability? We'd rather not scan if we do not have to.

Has anyone tried this?

Go to www.download.com
Download Cute PDF Printer.
Install it.
To use it, simply switch your printer setting to the Cute PDF Printer.
Print the document to your hard drive as a PDF. Then Open the PDF and
print it to paper from there.

What you have to do is to include the Co. letterhead and graphics as a
background or watermark in your text editor. As far as I know this is
not posible with Adobe Acrobat, and in any case it is easier to have a
style in your text editor and print the pre-formated text.

If you can define your letterhead as a custom watermark, you can then
add it to the PDF in the Distiller printer driver. I don't know if
it'll print solid black or "watermark grey" but this is the technique
(using Access and Distiller)
