I am looking for a rendition by a radio personality. He put together music behind a narrative about what Francis Scott Key saw and how he came to write the Star Spangled Banner. I don't think he ever sold it. He just plays it occasionally on the radio and it may be on a web site. | |

Hi - I'm not at all sure this is the guy you're looking for, so I'm just going to post it as a comment - The singer is called Larry Hosford - he's a country singer/songwriter, and he has a rendition of the Star Spangled Banner that weaves together the actual song lyrics with his "story" of that night. His song is called "DEFENCE OF FORT M'HENRY". Have a look at the following page on his website - it lists the song lyrics: http://www.larryhosford.com/SC%20Lyrics/Defence%20Of%20Fort%20M'Henry.htm I haven't been able to find any web-based or physical recording of the song, and his website seems to say there aren't any web recordings, anyway. It's not on any of his albums - see here: http://www.larryhosford.com/Music.htm If this *is* the rendition you're looking for, there are contact details on his website that might lead you to an actual recording of the song. |
