I'd like to know how many advertising messages people in the UK are exposed to on average each day. If possible, I'd also like this broken down into business owners (key decision-makers) and the general public. | |

I don't think anything but a wild estimate is possible. 200 per day for small children where the TV is used as a baby sitter. 60 per day for the average Brit of all ages. 20 per day for key desission makers and business owners who typically waste little time watching TV with commercials. The latter likely perceive most of the ads they do hear/see as bad advice and half truths or worse. Neil |

Thanks for your comment. What I'm hoping is that there's been research done on this, like there has in the States. I understand that research has been conducted on this in the US for some years and am looking for the equivalent in the UK. Also, it's not just TV adverts that would need to be included. It would have to include everything from magazine/newspaper ads, roadside ad boards and messages on buses, for example. |
