Hi johnterryjr,
Good day and thanks for your question. Two points to be noted -
Firstly, the contact information I got from the web site is :
Address -
FDA,
Bandra-Kurla Complex,
Bandra (East),
Mumbai 400 051
Maharashtra,
India
Tel -
+91-22-6592361-65
+91-22-6592123
+91-22-6592149
Fax -
+91-22-6591959
Email -
fdahq@vsnl.com
The second point to be noted is the manner in which you are dialing.
You are right that 91 is the area code of India. But, you are not
supposed to put "98" unless you're calling a cellular phone. In India,
there are no area codes for cellular phones you dial +91 98 xxx xxxxx.
the code for Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay) is 22.
Hence, the number you have to dial is +91 22 6592361. In the place of
'+', put the number you have to dial for making international calls
(011 for USA and 0011 for Australia). If you are dialing from India,
you have to dial a 0 in palce of +91 (i.e. 022 6592361).
Another thing to keep in mind is that telephone numbers in most parts
of India are becoming 8 digits (from 7 digits). The number will have
to be prefixed with 2 if this is the case. i.e. +91 22 26592361
I hope this answers your question. If you have any clarifications,
please don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you for using this service and have a nice day.
With regards,
aditya2k

Have a look at http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/dialing.html?p2=44
It shows how to dial to Mumbai from anywhere in the world.

He he...thanks for your answer.
I have tried to call them now with all 3 different "dialling methods"
you gave me. It seems like the first one 91 22 6592361 is the right
one to dial (but since no one answers the phone now at midnight in
India then after 5-6 rings then the voice simply says "the number can
not be completed as dialled" but hopefuly it will work on monday.
I will rate your answer after monday when I have been abl to check
out if this works (if not, I will let you know first before rating it,
okay).
Again, thanks for your help which did help me to understand dialing to
India better.
Cheers,
John

You can also try calling on Saturday morning Indian time. Most offices
in India are open for half a day on Saturdays.
