my nortons internet security has had parental control activated and I
cant get emails or files over the net. the program asks for
supervisor. I am the administrator on the pc.Grand daughter has
activated the parental control somehow.)iI cannot log myself out or
even delete program asks for supervisor. how do i get in to rectify
this?.

I have 2 suggestions for you:

1) The most obvious: try uninstall it via control panel; If this dont
work take a look in the next options.

2) Remove the software from de autorun list, for example using a
program like the "Autoruns" from www.sysinternals.com and reboot the
machine.

2) Try to expire it: Set the system date for some 5 years in the
future, reboot the machine. The license would probably be expired,
them try the step #1.

3) Boot the system in "safe mode", rename or delete the program
directory (e.g. from C:/Program Files/norton to C:/Program
Files/norton.old)

the easiest way is to ask your grand daughter for the password :)
usually parental control got password if it's activated.
