Looking for information online about the military career of the late
Lt. Col Peter Patrick Oates, who served with "Kilo" Co. 3rd Bn in the
U.S. Marines in Vietnam as a Platoon leader and recieved the purple
heart.

Lt. Col. Peter Patrick Oates was a Lt. Col. When he died in 1992.  He
was a Lt. and Cpt. during vietnam.  Sorry about that, should have
clarified before on that.  Other information that might help, he is
buried in Arlington National Cemetary, he was very good friends with
Lt. Col. Oliver North, and he served in Desert Storm.

You might try searching under LTC Oates as well as Lt. Col. Oates for
search results... A LTC Oates is mentioned in the article below.
