Question ID: 378554
I am looking for a manufacturer of doors that are often seen in old or
retro-fitted diners. The doors were silver (probably
aluminum/stainless steel) and had patterns on them. Usually had a
diamond-shaped or port-hole window and the doors usually connected the
kitchen with the front room. I need one for a coffee house.

Dear bptnyc-ga;

I am posting this as a comment for the time being because of the
difficulty in finding EXACTLY what you are searching for. I did have
some luck however finding a company that makes a similar product so
I?ll let you decide if this answers your question:

What you are looking for is called an ?impact door?. Many companies
make them but in order to get one that looks as you described it will
be have be custom made and special ordered. ELIASON CORPORATION is the
only one that I found that manufactures these kinds of ?retro? looking
doors to specification. They specifically state on their web site that
they will fit your door with the precise type of window or opening
(diamond shaped or round ?porthole? shaped) you are wanting at a
competitive price:

?The 16-gauge stainless steel sheet door, with its strengthening
delta-formed vertical edges, provides an ideal solution for
budget-minded stainless steel shoppers. The translucent diamond or
ten-inch round window can further enhance the DSP-3?s aesthetic
appeal.?

Here are some examples of the door with the stock window but you
window would make it look differently of course.

MODEL: DSP-3

ELIASON CORPORATION manufacturers many other doors and doorway
products common to restaurant industry application so if you contact
them yourself they will send you a product catalog.

These doors do not have a ?pattern? on them but perhaps the company
does that, I don?t know. Alternatively of course you could have a
pattern applied to them to save you manufacturing cost. If this serves
to answer your question please let me know.
