I have an alcatel speed touch home modem running on bell sympatico
high-speed internet,we have just tried several times to attach a D
link Airplus G
wireless router and the connection to the computer becomes blocked
(non operational), the connection is run through the wan port as per
the instructions (The status lights and wan light do not engage) we
are runnig XP professional - according to the manufacturer we should
not be
interrupting the connection. Hence, we cannot get on the net and
finish the procedure.Is their a way to attach the hub and
still have the net connection?

Hi mac888,

See if this page helps you, in particular, this section:
Configure the Primary Computer:
"1. Open your browser program. It won't make a connection to the
Internet and will display an error message. Don't panic. This is
normal because you haven't told the router your username and password
yet."
