I assume at some point gmail might add this functionality, but is there any logical way to move my email sitting on IMAP servers and/or in outlook .PST files into gmail? This is a bit tricky, as I don't want to just "forward" mail as that makes it all appear to have come from myself. I want to "resend" it so that the orginal sender info is intact. I tried a program called "resend for outlook" but it constantly crashed and did not work at all. Is there some sort of utlity that will pull directly from an IMAP server and resend? This sounds like something a unix wizard could do easily, but I'm all Windows these days. |

Hi!! I think that I found what you are looking for!! At "GMail Utilities" I found the following software: "Google GMail Loader (GML)" by Mark Lyon, this is an import utility that will import your mail from an existing mail program that utilizes the mbox or maildir format. Typical programs that utilize the mbox format are Netscape, Mozilla, Pocomail, etc. The GML page address is: http://www.marklyon.org/gmail/default.htm Follow the links for download: http://www.marklyon.org/gmail/screenshot.htm instructions, http://www.marklyon.org/gmail/instruction.htm and download: http://www.marklyon.org/gmail/download.htm Here is another tool: "gExodus - a graphical Gmail import tool": http://blog.codefront.net/archives/2004/06/21/gexodus_a_graphical_gmail_import_tool.php Remember that you can convert Outlook Express and Outlook emails into the mbox format by importing them into Mozilla Mail/News or Mozilla Thunderbird. For more Gmail utilities visit the following pages: "GMail Utilities": http://www.aimlesswords.com/gmail_utilities.php "Download: Gmail Utilities": http://www.aaltonen.us/archives/2004/06/download_gmail_1.html Search strategy: gmail utilities (visit this results page!!) ://www.google.com/search?q=gmail+utilities I hope that this helps you. If you need a clarification or further assistance, feel free to request for an answer clarification. Regards. livioflores-ga | |

you'd probably just have to import your messages into Outlook Express first :). |

I use Eudora.. (and I am sure there is a equivalent in outlook), why don;t you redirect your messages to GMAIL account, it will maintain the sender address in the eMail ? |
