Question ID: 378875
I need a multi-format card reader (i.e. CF, SD, MMC, etc) that is
FireWire, not USB of either type. Not USB 1.1 or USB 2.0. The market
is flooded with USB 2.0 multi-format card readers, but I have no USB
ports open and available and I have two FireWire ports unused. I have
a FireWire Compact Flash card reader, but I need a reader for multiple
formats, specifically CF and SD. And I need FIREWIRE!!!!! Impossible
to find, I think !?!?!?

Here ya go... http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-176-813&depa=1

Atech USB Digital Card Reader/Writer(Grey) INTERNAL/EXTERNAL, Model PRO-9
IT ALSO SUPPORTS FIREWIRE, LOOK AT THE PICTURES...

"Special Features: Includes 1 Firewire port, High Performance,Good Compatibility."

And if that's not in your budget, get a 10$ usb hub and a 10$ card reader

I hope this answered your question because I'm broke. :)

Considering the specification for USB means that you can have up to
127 devices connected, ... well, whatever. Search for FISDMC .. it's a
6-in-one http://www.computer-ram.com/brand/computer0595.html (out of
stock at computer geeks)
