Deleted files are at risk of being written over by Windows when it
saves temporary and permanent files. If you have deleted the file
recently, and you have not done a disk defragment, you may be able to
restore this file with a third party utilty program. There are many
File Restore programs out there. You may want to try "File Restore"
from http://www.winternals.com or "Fast File" from
http://www.dtidata.com.  Good luck!

hi,

If you are using Windows XP, try using "system restore". It will
restore everything back to previous restore point. By default, this
system restore is enabled in windows XP.

The truth is, Windows will permanently delete files deleted from
recycle bin OR user press SHIFT delete to delete files. Those files
will no longer accessible by Windows. This characteristic is for
protecting users privacy.

Just in case, If the data deleted is important, can try some data
recovery software. My advice is, backup your files periodically.
Backup to CD, removable drive, another partition, network server, etc.

Search string = recover deleted file

http://www.recovermyfiles.com/
-------------------------------
Recover My Files data recovery software will recover deleted files
emptied from the Windows Recycle Bin, or lost due to hard drive
format, virus infection, unexpected system shutdown or software
failure.

Recover My Files is fast and easy. No data recovery software skills
are required. Use Recover My Files to perform hard drive data
recovery, or recover deleted files from floppy disk, zip drive,
compact flash, smart media, or other removable media.

Recover deleted documents;
Recover deleted Graphics;
Recover Music & Video; and
Recover deleted Zip Files.
