wHAT HAVE BEEN THE MAINCHANGES IN Thucydides' reputation over the
millenia since he wrote and published his history of The Peloponnesian
War. I am interested in when and why he was in favor or out of favor
at various periods. Among those periods: Hellenistic Greece, Roman
Republic, Roman Empire, Renaisance, Eighteenth Century Europe,
Nineteenth Century America, Twentieth Century America. I will settle
for a short reading list that will contain this information, plus a
very brief outline paragraph answer.
