We are designing cues for our client, Philip Morris, for their
Marlboro brand. They have asked us for designs for cues and cases
that connote the early Wild West of the 1900's "what the cowboys might
have used to play pool." I am looking for photos, catalog, links to
sites that would contain:
- old/antique cues
- Western artifacts of the early 1900's that might contain design
elements that we could incorporate into cue/case designs...
- stock photo or design books that could be resources for us as well.
These are intended to give us source material to use for further
brainstorming sessions and final designs.

Need by noon Tuesday 7/27.

Here are some information, I hope it helps...

Below is a great link to images of cues circa 1800's. Check out the
links A, B, C etc. on the bottom of the page LOTS OF GREAT PICTURES:
(NOTE: cues prior to mid-20th century were rather bland compared to
cues that were made after thru today)

The site below could also be a good resource:

http://www.billiardmemorabilia.com/cues.html - this site has a few
cues from 1917 and newer

The Billiard's Encyclopedia is a very nice history of the game with
great illustrations. I believe it may be your best bet, though it is
a little costly. You should be able to resell it rather easily, too.
I sold my copy some time ago, but you can find copies...see the link
to amazon below:

The "Blue Book of Pool Cues" may also be a good source. I'm not sure
how far back in history they go to value cues. They have 2 editions
of this book published. You could contact them to see if the content
is appropriate or to find more/better resources. Their website link
is below:
