Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

?Our competitors include retailers of doughnuts and snacks sold
through supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants and retail
stores. We compete against Dunkin? Donuts, which has the largest
number of outlets in the doughnut retail industry, as well as against
regionally- and locally-owned doughnut shops. We also compete against
other retailers who sell sweet treats such as cookie stores and ice
cream stores. We compete on elements such as food quality, concept,
convenience, location, customer service and value. Customer service,
including frequency of deliveries and maintenance of fully stocked
shelves, is an important factor in successfully competing for shelf
space in grocery stores and convenience stores.?

?In the packaged doughnut market, we offer a full product line of
doughnuts and snacks that are sold on a consignment basis and are
typically merchandised on a free-standing branded display. We compete
primarily withother well-known producers of baked goods, such as
Hostess, Dolly Madison and Entenmann?s, and some regional brands.?
