Question ID: 379872
I need to purchase some DJ equipment. Please find a...

rack-mountable
stereo
15-band (approximately)
graphic
equalizer.

Here are the details for my request.

1) Rack-mountable

Preferably, the unit will only occupy one rack space.

2) Stereo

Please note the difference (at least in my mind) between
"dual-channel" and "stereo". By "stereo", I mean that one fader
alters both channels. By "dual channel", I mean that the unit has,
essentially, two EQs: one for the left channel and one for the right.

Since a "stereo" (one fader alters both channels) EQ may be difficult
or impossible to find, the next best option is a linkable dual-channel
EQ (LDCEQ, my term).

The reason I require either a "stereo" EQ or a "LDCEQ" is because I
don't have enough time to fiddle with two fader throws to sculpt the
sound.

3) Approx 15-band (min: 10, max: 20)

Since ease-of-use and speed-of-fader-throw is very important, an EQ
with, say, 31 tiny little faders is just too akward for fast usage.
On the other hand, an EQ with less than 10 bands doesn't offer the
precision I require.

4) Graphic

Parametric EQs are too involved for high-speed use.

5) Equalizer

Nuthin' to say here.

I'd like to have a list of 3-5 models, but I'm not sure how
hard/possible that'll be. If you can only find one, I'll be
satisfied. If you spend several hours and can't find any, that's very
useful information too. Simply provide a list of brands and models
you investigated so that I can cross them off my list... and I'll
consider the question answered.

Thank you.

Thanks to Crythias comments, I now realize that my "15 band"
requirement is a bit confining.

I still would very much prefer a 15-band EQ, but will definitely
consider even 31-band EQs if all other specs are met... and the price
isn't too bad.

I believe that this should fit your needs. If not there are plenty of
equalizers on this site. Just do a search for equalizers from their
search bar, I'm sure you will find what you need.

Thanks for the link.

However, it doesn't state that the channels are linkable. Further,
the list of available doesn't contain any "link"ish button.

No, close, but no.

This isn't what you want, but it's very nice, :)

It's the most consistent thing that fills most of the requirements...

I know you don't want this one, either, but I am bring it up as it's
very close, except 30 buttons...

The reason I'm even suggesting it is because the eq buttons are across
the whole of the unit, and even most 15-band eq's are actually two
15's across anyway, as I have seen it... 15 bands per channel...

I hope this helps... some way ...

Nice. That Rane, although friggin expensive, could work. Ow. And to
think I need THREE of 'em.

That does help a leedle bit.

Note to researchers: the question still stands, though.

I appreciate that I've found kinda sorta what you want. Here's another
option, although, again, I'm not sure you'll like it...
http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product_Code=GMI+PMX1400&JRSource=DealTime.datafeed.GMI+PMX1400

It handles 4 stereo signals with 7 band equalizer. It violates all
sorts of your requirements, but the price is right, and this appears
to be a 3U unit (which would work if you wanted three 1U units.)
