To clarify I am specifically interested in online networking sites
like friendster.com, in terms of which sites are widely used in the UK
and how we might tap into them from a marketing persepctive.

i remember reading about there being 2 (!) association for viral
marketing - probably a feature article in fastcompany.com if i
remember correctly

seth godin's book "unleashing the ideavirus" would be a good place to start.
