Question ID: 379916
I have an Elf Model 370z camera and lost my booklet. I have the
letter 'H' coming up when I try to take a picture. How can I fix the
problem, I have installed a new battery but still the same.

Try removing the battery and film. Then press the shutter release
button firmly a lot of times the put the battery and film back in.

Let me know if it works.

Thanks,
Bobbie7

Dear Peggy623,

Read these messages from other owners of this camera with the same problem.

?I had the Flashing H problem also. I took out the battery and the
film. Turned the camera on, snapped a couple of shutter releases to
drain any leftover power. Put the battery back in and loaded a new
roll of film. The H went away. I had tried this a couple of times
before; but I set the date and time prior to loading the film and the
H was still there. I don't know if this will work for your camera, but
it's worth a try.?

?From looking at other postings, this seems a rather common problem
(especially since most reports seem to indicate that it happens soon
after 1 year warranty has expired). Has anyone managed to understand
why it happens, if there is a real workaround (where battery
removal/re-insertion fails) or whether it is a design defect??

?I had this problem only once. I solved it by removing the battery,
keeping it out for ten minutes, then re-inserting it. The 370Z then
worked nicely, and still does, a year or so later.?

?I know this problem has been posted before - my ELPH 370Z is flashing
H. I have taken the battery and film out and replaced them several
times but no luck. Has anyone found a fix to this or am I doomed to
"repair" and its associated cost. Thanks for any help

I fixed the problem myself (I think), anyhow I got rid of the flashing
"H" and the camera is ready to take pics. I simply removed the battery
and film. Then pressed the shutter release button firmly a lot of
times the put the battery and film back in and voila, it works. (for
now). ?

Hi peggy623,

Here are more complaints regarding the "H" error.

Camera Review

Notice one person got the "H" to disappear by unscrewing the camera,
taking out the battery and the film, and then screwing the camera back
together.

Rainbow
