Regarding divorce in Connecticut, what year was the child care (not
support) statute enacted? I believe it was 1999, is this correct and
if not, what year?

Thank you.

robdb5 --

Can you clarify what you mean by the "child care statute"? There are
many references to child care in different provisions of the
Connecticut statutes related to divorce, and it would be helpful to
know a little more about the nature of the specific legislation that
interests you.

Hello,

I was divorced in Connecticut in December of 1996. The Family Court of
New York, where my ex now resides, has ordered me to pay child care. I
pay child support of $150 per week. I don't believe that there was any
provision for child care under Connecticut divorce law in 1996. The
New York courts have to look to Connecticut divorce law for their
ruling because I was married and divorced in CT. I think that child
care was mandated in August of 1999. Any information would be
appreciated.

Thank you.
