I am looking for a song that contains something like the line, "I want
to be a cowboy (cowgirl?) but I'm afraid of cows.... Moo, moo, moo,

I need to know who WROTE the song and where I can find a CD RECORDING
of the song.

Can you help?

Thank you!

I found the name of the song, the lyrics and the CD but not the
writer. Is this enough for an answer?

Dear rabbiblake-ga

Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question.

The modern day name of the song is ?I?d Like To Be A Cowboy?, most
recently by Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen:

?I?D LIKE TO BE A COWBOY? (Lyrics)
http://olsen-twins.letras.terra.com.br/letras/29335/

The song has had many title variations over the years: ?I'VE JUST GOT
TO BE A COWGIRL? http://www.judycoder.com/pride.htm , ?I'D LOVE TO BE
A COWGIRL (But I'm A-Scared Of Cows)?, ?I WANT TO BE A COWBOY?, etc.

This is unconfirmed (because I haven?t seen it personally) but I have
read that the song also supposedly appeared in the movie ?That Texas
Jamboree? (1946) sung by The Hoosier Hot Shots.

Apparently this is a very old song that has been around for many
generations and no one knows or remembers who actually wrote it.

?I'm looking for a song--I want to be a cowboy but I'm afraid of cows
moo moo how they scare me, are some of the words, my husband sang it
as a boy in the late 30's or early 40's??

The song was once a huge hit, and the earliest I could trace it was
it?s original commercial recording by Patsy Montana & Prairie Ramblers
on her 1935 album ?Pride of the Prairie?. At that time it was called
