Brondell --
The cost of a gallon of tap water has a wide range, particularly when
"peak" rates are incorporated. (My home district charges 10% more in
suburban Seattle during the summertime.)
But to simplify, according to the National Utility Services 2000
survey of the United States, people in U.S. cities pay between .07
cents and .4 cents per gallon. Their list of U.S. cities had pricing
for 220,000 gallons at:
? Pittsburgh, Penn. --$873.55 or $.004/gallon
? Houston, Texas --$500.44
? Hartford, Conn. --$403.71
? Denver, Colo. --$302.81
? Salt Lake City, Utah --$154.89 or $0.0007/gallon
