There is no Ultimate Power.

Why pose the question?

Maybe the "Illusion of Ultimate Power"?

"Power" is a term generated by Man.
"Ultimate" must be determined by Man.
Man will eventually die. So their power is not "Ultimate".
Meaning complete and forever.

No other "thing" that lives on the planet
can conceive of ultimate power, only man.

Thus we have two constructs based on this question:
1) Ultimate Power does not exist.
2) Power is generate by man.

The question can be better answered if asked like this:
"What are the benefits and dangers of the perception of Ultimate Power?"

There would be then two components:
1) External Views of man that another holds Ultimate Power
2) Internal Views of a man who thinks they have Ultimate Power

Case 1
External View is True
Internal View is False (The person attributes this power to God or other)
This is called a King or Queen
(See history for the benefits and dangers)

Case 2
External View is False (The world does not view the man as Ultimate Power)
Internal View is True
This is called a delusional man.
See most psyc wards or your local demoted boss.

Case 3
External View is False
Internal View is False
This is called a man.
See any book on Normal Psychology for child and adult.

Case 4
External View is True
Internal View is True
This is called a dictator.
See history on Hitler, Castro and Stalin for benefits and dangers.

Hope this helps...

"39 We have learned by sad experience that it is the nature and
disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority,
as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise unrighteous
dominion.

40 Hence many are called, but few are chosen."

Soooo... You describe then a dictator and monarch's history.
Since most have not ended their existance in helping mankind
since they tend to abuse their power.

Or history only records those that do abuse that power...

Which is it?

Thanks
Grego
